Ticket to Ride

Whee!! Picked up my flight tickets, my rail pass, and an assortment of free travel books from FC today. Too cool! Of course now, looking at the actual schedules and reading about how you have to be very careful which train you get on, I'm terrified of taking the trains!

It's not like Calgary, where if you get on the wrong train, you just end up at Whitehorn (North East) instead of Heritage (South East). In Europe, if you get on the wrong train, you end up in Switzerland instead of Italy. That's a little more serious. And to make matters worse (and sound American for a moment) almost none of the signs are in English, doubly complicating things for me. I would say that the books look like greek to me, except some of them really are greek. It's all a jumble of numbers and letters and lines...oh, I'm screwed!

So if anyone out there happens to be in Switzerland, and comes upon a very lost looking red-head in a brown skirt, take pity.

Only in Glasgow...

Where else can you find a semi attempting a U-ie in the middle of a bridge during AM rushour? Don't worry, traffic wasn't affected by this, the bus driver just sped up and honked his horn...

I went to the art museum and wandered around downtown Glasgow. I fed a pigeon while I was enjoying my lunch, word got around that I had food and soon I was swarmed by a flock of 50 pigeons...they kept coming closer to my feet and head and wouldn't go away. Oh, I must return here with money and an extra backpack, all the clothing is so beautiful and the shoes! Oh, the shoes are so different than our drab Canadian shoes. These shoes have sparkles, sequins and come in every style imaginable. People here just wear whatever they want and they all look like they just stepped off the runway.

Tomorrow: Edinburgh

On the Road Again...

Well, almost. 28 days left!

Just starting off the travel-logue. I won't have a whole lot yet, so it's gonna be mostly Jen for the next few weeks.

But after that, just watch out!
